Homework Help, Volume 2
Ok, I've got two essay questions coming up. They are:
1) Describe the impact of WWII on the Home Front in the US, using specific examples of Social, Political, Cultural, and Economic changes. Discuss.
2) The Romans, they had civil wars. We're talking about the fall of the republic. Talk about the Civil Wars from the Gracchi to the assassination of J. Caesar.
Now, how do I fit my love of Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk into these discussions? Perhaps Bass Ale? Help!

I don't know nothin' about assassinatin' no Romans, but part 1 is what my wife might describe as Easy Peasy.
WWII in both the US and, perhaps even more so, Britain, was very scary for children. They had fathers going overseas and sometimes dying. I have often read about the young Beatles growing up amid falling bombs. But even back in the US, a whole generation grew up with visceral, personal knowledge of the fear and the losses one sustains when one's country is at war.
This generation came of age in the 1960s, a time when many of them wore fringe vests, sideburns, and long hair. Oh, and campaigned for peace and equality. In short, some of them were hippies or had hippie like characteristics. Which brings us, if you hadn't seen this coming already, to Ben and Jerry and their New York Super Fudge Chunk. You're welcome.
An attempt to Link Bass Ale and Julius Ceasar.

King John's Charter of 1207 created the Borough of Liverpool. John succeeded to the throne as the younger brother of King Richard I (known as "Richard the Lionheart").
King John was the subject of a Shakespearean play of the same name.
Julius Caesar is a tragedy by William Shakespeare probably written in 1599. It portrays the conspiracy against the Roman dictator, Julius Caesar, his assassination and its aftermath. It is one of several Shakespeare plays that are based on true events from history.
I think there is a clear link between Bass Ale and Ceasar.
